RideCheck – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: December 2025
1. What RideCheck Provides
RideCheck offers on-demand, pre-purchase vehicle inspection services. When you submit a vehicle listing and complete payment, RideCheck will:
- Contact the seller on your behalf to schedule an inspection
- Assign a certified mechanic (RideChecker) to perform a visual, non-invasive multi-point inspection
- Deliver a detailed inspection report including photos, videos, condition notes, and observations
RideCheck inspections are visual assessments. We do not perform mechanical teardowns, component replacements, or invasive diagnostics.
2. Not a Warranty or Guarantee
RideCheck does not guarantee, warrant, or certify:
- That the vehicle will pass future state inspections or emissions tests
- That the vehicle is free from defects or hidden problems
- That the vehicle will perform reliably after purchase
- That all issues have been identified during the inspection
Our reports reflect the vehicle's observable condition at the time of inspection only. Used vehicles inherently carry risk, and buyers are responsible for their purchasing decisions.
3. Seller Cooperation Required
RideCheck cannot complete an inspection if the seller refuses access to the vehicle or becomes unresponsive. If a seller refuses or fails to cooperate before an inspector is assigned, you will receive a full refund.
If the seller refuses after an inspector has been assigned and has begun travel to the location, the inspection fee is non-refundable because labor costs have been incurred.
4. Payment and Refunds
All payments are processed securely via Stripe. Payment is required before seller contact and inspector assignment.
Refund Policy:
- Full refund available if no inspector has been assigned
- No refund available once an inspector is assigned or has begun work
- No refund for completed inspections, regardless of findings
5. Timing and Turnaround
Most inspections are completed within 24-48 hours of payment, depending on seller availability and inspector scheduling. RideCheck makes commercially reasonable efforts to complete inspections quickly but cannot guarantee specific turnaround times.
6. Road Tests and OBD Scans
Road tests and OBD-II scans are performed when the seller permits and conditions allow. Not all inspections will include these elements. RideCheck is not responsible if a seller refuses a road test or if an OBD port is inaccessible.
7. Report Accuracy and Limitations
RideCheck inspectors are trained professionals who provide honest, accurate observations based on visual inspection. However:
- Some issues may not be visible without disassembly
- Intermittent problems may not be present during the inspection
- Inspection findings are opinions, not absolute facts
- Estimated repair costs are approximate and not guarantees
8. Limitation of Liability
RideCheck's total liability for any claim related to an inspection is limited to the amount you paid for that specific inspection. RideCheck is not liable for:
- Consequential, indirect, incidental, or punitive damages
- Vehicle repair costs discovered after purchase
- Lost time, travel expenses, or opportunity costs
- Issues not visible or detectable during the inspection
9. Independent Inspectors
RideCheckers operate as independent contractors. RideCheck coordinates inspections but does not control the specific methods used by each inspector. All inspectors must follow RideCheck's inspection standards and guidelines.
10. User Responsibilities
By using RideCheck, you agree to:
- Provide accurate listing URLs and vehicle information
- Make your own independent buying decision
- Conduct additional due diligence if needed
- Not hold RideCheck responsible for the condition of vehicles you purchase
11. Prohibited Uses
You may not use RideCheck to:
- Harass, intimidate, or defraud sellers
